Blue Blown..

With all the excitement yesterday, I completely forgot to show you this.
Our friend Ed, who blows mine and Nikki's glass, has been having a tidy up in his workshop, and he came across these little Vases and a bowl that he blew sometime ago, as an experiment.
Now, it is a standing joke, between Mary & Ed and Mick and I, about all the stuff I've got.
So when Ed came across these, he told Mary to send them to me to add to the rest of the Stuff.
I rang to thank Ed the other day and asked would he be making any more?. The reply was unprintable..LOL Thank you Ed and if there's any more stuff you don't want, I'm sure I can find a hole somewhere to stick it....xxxx

More Bottles...

I've got a bit carried away with these Bottles, but you can never have enough for an Apothecary. Even Ben made some last night when he got in from School. There's still some sitting on the tile, waiting for decoration.
It was also the Boys idea to turn the Sheep's Skull into a Cyclops Sheep Skull. I wouldn't want to find one of them in my fields. LOL....
I had another go at making another Bat Bottle and I've elongated the ears. I think it makes it look more Batty.
They were all nearly splattered with Black Acrylic Paint this morning. I was shaking the Bottle and the top is faulty, it stayed on, but the paint came out from the screw on bit, well the paint went everywhere, all over me, the Kitchen table, chairs and floor. Good job I only had my PJ's on.

Remember These Mary..

While I was having a sort out the other day, for some bits to send to Nikki for her Witchy Hat Table. I came across these beautiful little bottles that our friend Ed blew for me. I used to put them in the Trunks that I made. The taller ones at the back are big enough to take a small round label on the front, but the ones in front are teeny tiny and are under 1cm tall.
Mary is Ed's better half and we had a giggle the other week about me finding my Jam Jars, after I'd got Darling Ed to blow me some more, so I really had to show her these.. xxx

Four Blue Boxes...

I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday. I did..
I spent the whole day sorting out my four Blue boxes. Where they'd been stored in the garage they were filthy.
I had everything out of every drawer. Scrubbed them and I mean scrubbed and disinfected them.
I then had the task of sorting everything into it's rightful spot and re-bagging everything that wasn't in a bag.
The first two boxes contained some of the stuff I used to take to the Fairs and a lot of the Food Stuff that I used to make for a Wholesaler, Importer/Exporter. You can see all my code numbers on the bags. I made approximately 30 different lines.
I also work in 1/24Th Scale as you can see by the pictures of the plates of food on the end of my index finger. Cornish Pasties and Sausage Rolls, can you imagine making 144 plates of each, which had to be exactly the same. Mind numbing LOL.. What do you think of the Cherry Pie, can you imagine rolling all those Cherries. If you click on the pictures, they will pop up bigger.
The next two boxes contain all the wonderful Glass that Ed has blown me. As I've been having this sort out, I did find a couple of boxes of Glass that had been mislaid in the move. So its all been put together in the drawers now.
I've still got loads of stuff to sort in the Garage, while I was in there yesterday, I came across an Ikea wooden box, that is filled to the brim with the Original Fimo, so won't have to buy any Clay for a while.
On the more personnel front, we have a meeting at the Boy's School this evening. Its time for Harry to pick the subjects he wants to study for his GCSE's. They have to take English, Welsh, Math and Science. He now has to decide on the other four!
Tomorrow I'm having my CT Scan, so hopefully they will be able to find out what's causing all this water retention and swelling.

Miniatures For The Apothecary

Do you remember the lovely little Cauldron that my friend Nikki from Witch & Wizard Miniatures made for me?
Well last night I decided to fill him up with some lovely gooey green bubbles. He now looks like he's having a bad hair day and throwing his arms up in disgust. LOL.
I also filled up some more test tubes and made a couple that look as if the contents are spilling out.

Test Tubes..

This afternoon, I had a go at filling the Test Tubes for the table in the Apothecary. I'm quite pleased with the results. They were quite difficult to fill as they are so tiny. I also found this little bottle in my stash and filled that as well.
I wanted to try it out on these first, before moving on to the larger pieces of Lab Glass..

Glass Delivery..

This morning I popped out quick to get some food Shopping, it was a case of Old Mother Hubbard, with no food in the cupboard.
I knew that I had a delivery coming today, by Courier. At least by coming by Courier it doesn't get shoved in a mail bag. I'd ordered some more Laboratory Glass from Darling Ed as soon as I received the last lot, in February. Mary emailed me yesterday to let me know it was on its way.
Well and after removing loads of packing, nestled in the box was all my Glass and it had all arrived safely and in one piece.
I have quite a few ideas for this Laboratory Equipment. So watch this space...

Look What Came In The Post...

I've got to share these with you.
I won some of Nikki's Jars from EBay, Goblin Brains and Tapeworms, well I expect any self respecting Witch or Wizard would have some. These are going in the Apothecary.
But there was a couple of other things wrapped in the box for me.. Ben and I were fighting to open the little packages. Ben said it was like a lucky dip.
Nikki sent me one of her wonderful little Cauldrons and a Mandrake Skin Book. Aren't they fantastic. I adore them both and love the way they are poking their tongues out. The Cauldron is definitely taking pride of place upstairs in the Apothecary. There was a couple of other things in there as well, but I'm sworn to secrecy at the moment, until Nikki unveils them...

I've Been Playing With My Glass...

Well as you can see I've been playing with the Glass, that I received this morning from Mary & Ed. I've done a dry run on how I want it to look.
Doesn't it look wonderful. Can you tell how pleased I am with it?. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger.
If you look at the bottom picture, can you see what's under the table? There's Dragon Egg's, these were made by my friend Kat from Kat The Hat Lady. Kat is the lovely lady that makes all those wonderful hats. I have some new ones to show you later, that I won from EBay the other day..

Wizards Apothecary Glass

Remember I told you about Ed, the man that makes all my glass for me.
Well just over a week ago I sent Ed, the table that I'm going to use in the Apothecary and asked him if he could make all the Laboratory equipment for me to fit on the table.
Well the parcel arrived this morning and I'm totally blown away.(Excuse the Pun, as all Ed's glass is hand blown!). Ed makes Laboratory Equipment in the real world, so he scaled the glass down, exclusively for me. Hopefully, if everything works out, I will be selling this Miniature Laboratory equipment, in the not so distant future. Ed also sent me a drawing, to show me how it all fits together and labelled everything. He even made me a little holder for the test tubes and a retort stand for the retort.
Ed made me a Bell jar, Filter Flask, Filter Funnel, Carboy, Airlock, Storage Jar, Coil, Beaker, Test Tubes, Retort, Measuring Cylinder, Conical Flask and a Boiling Flask.
The Beaker and Measuring Cylinder even have the graduation lines on them. And just look at the Coil it's orgasmic. Can't wait to get it all set up on the table. I'll post some more photo's later.

Glass Balls....

Nikki, left a comment on my blog yesterday, with an idea on filling the barrels. (See Barrels Post).
She suggested using tiny glass balls and kindly sent me a picture with an example.
Now years ago, Ed, (he's the man that makes all my glass) sent me a bag of little glass balls, just in case I could use them. So off I went today to have a rummage in the Boot Room and yippee I found them.
They are approximately 3mm in diameter, so should be just right for my little experiment..
Just shows I don't throw anything away, just knew I'd find a use for them one day and today's the day... So this afternoon I'll be playing with my balls. LOL...

Filling Jars...

I spent some time this morning filling some more Jars for "Honeydukes". I brought some very fine crafting sand in different colours, to resemble Sherbet. Just 19 jars left to fill now..
