Stephanie will be displaying and selling her beautiful wares at SIMP 2009. the International Miniature Fair in Paris. She is currently working flat out to get enough creations to take to the Fair. I Love the little boxes filled with Macaroons, and just look at the little round blue box of Chocolates, it is beautifully decorated. If you click on the photo's they will pop up bigger.

A Secret Surprise For A Friend...

I've been working on a Secret Surprise for a friend over the last few weeks. I've been making a few chocolates each time, I've been playing with the clay..
That friend is Marsha from Sassy Mini Dolls.
Marsha is currently working on a Chocolate Shop and have I told you she Loves the colour Pink.
I emailed Marsha these pictures this morning, so that she could see them first, before I shared them with everyone on my blog.

How To Make Chocolate Boxes..

In the comments on the last post today, Marlies asked what the punches were for. Well, there to save me quite a lot of time making Chocolate boxes. I normally measure out, each little square on card and cut it out with a scalpel and metal ruler. The square punch will save so much time. It is a perfect inch by inch.
These little boxes are very simple to make. If you want to make them you will need a sheet of A4 card, either a square punch or scalpel, cutting mat, tacky glue, a small piece of tissue paper, and decorations of your choice, plus some miniature chocolates. You can either make them to open like mine, or sealed if they are just for display purposes.
Firstly, punch or cut out 2 x 1" Squares from card, these will form the lid and the bottom of the box.
Next cut a long strip of card 1/4in wide down the length of the A4 sheet, this will form the insides
of the box. Once the strip is cut, you will need to fold and score it so that it forms a square, leave a tiny overhang so you can glue it together to make a hollow square, this hollow square should fit, slightly inside the bottom of the box. Once your happy with the fit, run a very thin line of tacky glue around the edge and attach it to one of the previously cut squares. Leave to dry.
Next cut another strip the same size, but this time make the hollow square slightly bigger so that it fits over the bottom square. Again one your happy with the fit, glue around the edge and place on the other square. Leave to dry.
Once the box is completely dry, make sure that the lid slips on and off easily.
Next cut a small piece of tissue paper to fit in the bottom of the box, but big enough to come up the sides and be folded over. (See pictures for reference). Again once your happy with the fit, place a tiny bit of glue on the bottom of the box and glue the tissue paper in place. Allow to dry. Once dry add your chocolates, put a tiny dab of glue on the bottom of each chocolate to hold them in place. Then gently fold over the tissue paper. Decorate the top of the box any way you wish, let your imagination run riot. If you want to make a box for decoration only. Just make one hollow square and glue the top and bottom on to it.

Well I have to admit I cheated, I brought some 1/12th Green plastic frogs and gave them a coat of Chocolate paint.. Perfect for Honeydukes.

Miniatures

Well as you can see from the previous postings this morning I was playing silly buggers on the computer!

Just sorting out what I'm going to list on Ebay this week, got a couple of new bits that I haven't listed before & some that I have. Got to take the pictures now and sort out the best ones for the listings. I don't think people realise how long it takes to list everything. I take a photo first, then upload to the computer, go onto Ebay, write the description, upload picture, check postage etc etc then list. I never use a previous photo for a listing as you can guarantee the customer will notice the slight difference, nothing is ever completely the same being that their handmade, so the one they bid on is the one that they get. The picture of the Chocolates are what I made ages ago, before we moved to Wales, not sure whether to put them on Ebay or not. Chocolate's are pretty simple to make, it the boxes that take ages. I might make some trays of chocolate's all different ones, oh dear! my mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Ben's gone out with his friends again today to Carmarthen & Harry is going to a Birthday party this afternoon and then sleeping over. So it will be all quiet on the Western front this afternoon......
