Scan Today & Cute Fur Babies...

I had a phone on Friday from the X-Ray department at Carmarthen Hospital. They had managed to book me in, for a Scan on my legs this afternoon. They rang to let me know, in case the letter didn't get here on time. How about that for service. So that's where, I am heading off to this afternoon. Doubt I'll know anything today, unless they find something!.

Yesterday we popped over to see our friend Tash aka The Boot Sale Queen. She has quite a few Cats living feral, where she lives and they keep having Kittens!. The first Cat she caught was heavily pregnant, and ended up having 6 kittens under the wardrobe in one of her bedrooms.
Tash managed to re-home all the Kittens, have the Mum spayed and gave her a home. But unfortunately a few months later, the Mum Millie was killed on the Road, outside her house.
Next another Mum brought her Kittens around and Tash managed to Catch one really fluffy Black and White Kitten, which is now called Lily and lives with Tash's Mum and Dad.
Then along came another Mum with her four kittens which Tash managed to bring indoors. Her four beautiful Kittens have been re homed and Tash has still got Mum at the moment. She's booked into be Neutered. Not sure whether Tash is keeping her or re-homing her. I fell in Love, with the little Grey,White and Cream one. She was beautiful, but we can't have any more, not with our six.
Then over the Weekend, yet another Cat, brought her Kittens around for a visit and some food and Tash managed to catch two of them. They are shown in the last two pictures. Which went off to a new home last night. But Tash is determined to catch the other's and get the Mother's . She's been on to a Cat Charity, so that they can lend her a special cage, then they will Neuter/Spay the Mum's.

Yesterday 5th January 2010

Yesterday morning we woke to rain, which very quickly turned to sleet and then to Snow. Outside our House is quite a steep hill that goes down into the village. We were watching the cars struggling to get up and down the hill, when down came a lorry and it started to slide, he was so lucky that he didn't jack knife. A few cars managed to pull into the lay by, but one just didn't make it and hit the grass bank. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger. We did the good neighbour bit and made the lorry driver a hot drink and asked the others in the lay by if they wanted a hot drink or to use the loo. Well you know what its like when its freezing and you need to go..
We rang the council to inform them of the problem on the hill and they told us to ring the Police, which we did. The Lorry driver eventually, after about 2 hours managed to straighten the Lorry up and get down the hill using the car tracks. Then blow me along came the Snow Plough and cleared the ice and gritted and then the Police drove up the hill. They were gritting and clearing the hill all through the night.
The only one in our Household who seems to be enjoying all the Snow is Merlin, he looked like a Polar Bear after rolling around the snow, then he promptly came indoors and shook himself. The floor and walls were drenched.
Merlin really makes us laugh, Harry throws Snowballs to him which he either eats or if they hit the ground he digs for them, he just doesn't realise they've disappeared into the surrounding snow. Bless him he's not the full Shilling..
I'll be back later with some more pictures that I took today..

Lovely Surprise..

I had a lovely surprise today. Ben took my broken Laptop into school for me this week and gave it to one of his friends who is a genius with computers. My laptop went bang quite some time ago, which fried the mother board and I thought I'd lost everything on there. Ben's friend managed to extract all my photographs and documents and loaded them on to discs for me. Tonight we've sat and looked at the pictures, and there were quite a few on there that I'd completely forgotten about. Like the ones of Merlin when he was a tiny puppy, the house when we first brought it and the photo's of the Cats when they were really cute fluffy kittens. Moses & Storm when we first got them, and family photo's.
The photo at the top really gave me a giggle when I saw it again. While Harry was playing with the Dogs, Merlin pinched his jacket while he wasn't looking. I can't believe just how tiny he was, to the size of him now.

Satan & Smudge

Mick has just taken these photo's of Satan & Smudge. Satan is Angel's brother, Smudge is the Tortoise shell. Smudge is normally a bit anti-social. I couldn't believe that she was cuddling Satan. I wonder if they realise what's happened to Angel.
They didn't move a muscle as Mick took the photo's.. Bless em..

Angel....

Last night we did an emergency dash back to the vets, as Angel our poorly cat, started being sick again and was having problems trying to wee. Her kidneys have only been working at 30% and she had a bad heart. After talking to the vet and getting their advice we decided that it would be kinder to put her to sleep. So our little Angel is now a real Angel, run free over Rainbow Bridge...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Cold Day... Minus 7..

Its minus 7 here today.. Brrrr. (can you hear my teeth chattering). All our outside taps are frozen solid, so we've had to put the hose pipe in boiling water in the sink to defrost it as we need to get water to all the animals..
Took Angel our poorly pussy cat to the vets this morning, she's gained some weight, but will have to continue on her special diet, and tablets for her heart forever. She won't be able to go out now and will be a house cat. The vet said that her condition may be congenital as she's always been very tiny. She's quite happy indoors, getting lots of cuddles and being thoroughly spoilt.
Mick's parent's also left this morning to go back to London, they been with us since Boxing day. Hopefully, there won't be too much traffic on the roads and they will get back in good time.
Meant to say that Mick's thumb is healing nicely, he went to the Doctor's on New Years Eve to have it checked and redressed. These pictures were taken after it had been soaking in water, before it was redressed.
I've taken all the Christmas Decorations down and they are now packed away. So I can now get all my miniature bits out again and hopefully finish Honeydukes..

Christmas Eve...

Mick and I went shopping at Tesco's in Cardigan last night at around 8.30pm. Just wanted to get some Cream, Fruit and Salad stuff. Well I ended up laughing hysterically, walking round, it was like there was a food shortage. There was no vegetable's or fruit left on the shelves, literally only Potatoes and some red onion's left. We then moved onto the Cheese, not a cheese board left in sight. I just wanted a small tub of cream cream to go with the smoked salmon, nothing! By this time I've got the giggles. We then gone to the Salad aisle, not a leaf in sight not even a mouldy one. Now I'm really laughing. But what had me in hysteric's was the pickle aisle. Nothing on the shelves, absolutely nothing left. I spoke to one of the assistant's and she said that their deliveries hadn't arrived they were expecting a delivery at Midnight and another one at Midday today, which as she said is too late..
I've been listening to the Radio this morning, and they've said that the Town Centres are packed, lots of the store's are starting there Sales today. Thought there was a recession on..
I've got to go into Newcastle Emlyn today, to pick up Mick's presciption for his dressings, and pick up our poorly cat Angel from the vets. Maybe I'll be able to get a lettuce and some Cranberry sauce!... I'll update you later.... LOL...

Tasha's Kitty Katz..

Went over to see Tash & the kids today.. Well really went over to say Goodbye to the kittens. Their all off to their new homes this week. Think Tash will quite upset to see them go. Luckily, their all going in two's. The Pale Cream one and the dark Fawn are the first pair, then the two Grey Tabbies, then last but not least is the black one and the dark Tabby. Took loads of pictures and some video. Wish we could have had a couple, but we've already got Seven. Did think about smuggling a couple out in my jacket...

Visitors...

My Cousin Mandy & her friend Sam came up on Saturday for a long weekend. It was lovely to catch up with them. Sam loves cats but is a bit weary of dogs, well by the time they went home on Monday morning, Sam had been well and truly Merlined. As you can see by the pictures, Mandy was trying to get a photo with Merlin, but he was more interested in what she had in her hand.
Katie, Ben's girlfriend also went home on Sunday, she's been with us for 3 weeks. I have to say it was a pleasure, didn't really know that she was here.
Mick's parents also arrived on Monday morning, they are staying with us for a fortnight.

Weeding, Walls & Kitty Katz..

Been another busy week so far. Started weeding the slate bank in the little paddock on Monday and finally finished yesterday! Needed to lay a ladder on the bank to do it! Lots of the wild flower seeds I scattered on there, have come up and hopefully will self seed. Must take some pictures, before they all go over. Still keep finding Ragwort in the fields, so keep going around pulling that out.
The render is now on the steps and the outside wall around the kitchen. Looks better already. Eventually, there will be coping stones on top and the render will be painted.
Popped over to Tash's today, took two black bin liners of Harry's clothes over for the boys. Tash's kittens are getting bigger, their little eyes and ears are open now. Took some more piccies. Their all really cute, the little cream one is still my favourite, followed very closely by the fawn one, who's ears have turned a chocolate colour..

Five Legged Cat !

Mick grabbed the camera the other day and said did you know we have a five legged cat. It wasn't till I uploaded the pictures that I realised what he was talking about. Satan one of our black cats was asleep in his igloo, and Shadow the grey cat had laid on top of the igloo and gone to sleep. All you can see of Satan is his leg sticking out.
Tasha's kittens are all getting on OK and have now opened their eyes. Hoping to go over next week to get some up to date piccies.
Ben is coming home today, really missed not having him around. Katie is coming back with him for 3 weeks. At least he's had his hair cut and from the pictures I've seen, it looks really nice, even though he's dyed it! Looks like I'm going to have a hectic few weeks. My cousin Mandy and her friend are coming up for the Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of August. Then Mick's parents are coming up for a week. Then Tanya and the kids are coming up. Really looking forward to seeing everyone.

Kitty Katz

Sorry no postings but ever the busy person I just keep forgetting to up date both blogs at the same time.
Harry arrived home every Saturday morning, totally exhausted but had a brilliant time on his school trip. Now wants to do the French exchange trip next year..Ben went up to Katie's on Saturday, so it was a case of pick one up, drop one of at the airport. Ben's flight was delayed by 45 minutes so arrived in Scotland later then expected.
Today, I had the blacksmith here at 8.30am to do the Ponies feet, after he left dashed down to Diane's so that I could borrow a lunge line and drop of a show schedule. Then back home got a load of washing on, then straight back out over to Tash's.
Tash has been looking after a stray cat, it had a big abscess on its face and she managed to catch it and get it looked at by the vet. The vet told her that the cat was pregnant, so Tash being Tash has thoroughly spoilt this cat over the last few weeks, feeding her buying her all manner of bits and pieces. Anyway to cut a long story short, the cat had 6 kittens on Friday. Took my camera over to take some piccies of the little bundles today. Got to say they are so cute. The runt of the litter is cream and so tiny that it laid in the palm of my hand. Two are grey with fawn on their faces, one Fawn, one black with a tiny patch of white on its belly and one is a Tabby/Tortie. How cute are these babies....
