I've been wanting to have a go at this for ages and today I have.
I'd seen a tutorial on how to make a
Mummified Fairy, over at the Art Of Darkness. I didn't have a pair of tights or a stocking, so instead I just used very fine tissue paper. I coated the Skeleton and the tissue paper with PVA glue and covered the Skeleton.
Once it had dried I painted it and then dry brushed it to bring out the details.
I found a packet of clip on Butterflies, in my Scrapbook Stash and used one to make the wings. I scraped off as much glitter as I could and then painted over the wings to cover up the rest.
I'm still not sure whether to add Elfin ears, but I'm pleased with how its turned out. Just need to find myself a nice deep frame to stick it in and then I can add some other bits and pieces to go with it..
I've been having a few problems with my computer, don't ask me how, but every message yesterday, ended up in my trash folder and before I noticed what was happening, I'd
deleted most of them. So if you've emailed me and I haven't replied I'm sorry, but I may have deleted it by accident.

That came out looking so cool Debbie! I want one! I haven't a clue what I'd do with it but I want one ;)
Cool fairy though it is kind of scary....;)
Das sieht richtig toll aus Debbie.
Liebe Grüße PuNo/Monika
Totally KEWL, Debbie!!!!
xxoo
WOW I love the skeleton! I find it a little creepy and the type of thing you'd find in Dracula's Castle! lol
Methinks I should have a go....one of these days! Lol
In the meantime I've had my head stuck in Hogwarts rooms and applying loo paper to the walls, but ending up with more on me! lol

Really interesting piece Debbie. A great talking point once mounted on your wall!
Absolutely brilliant! I do think it does need elfin ears to complete the look.
Oh WOW I love your skeleton! I love scary fairies!!!!

Very cool! I think you did a great job :)
So scary but despite that it looks great, very clever. Don't think I am sufficiently informed on the correct appearance of a mummified fairy to comment on the ears though.
Hi Debbie,
it is a very well done fake, I´ve seen a lot allready, but pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease Debbie think about the faeries! It´s not good to trick them !!! Would you like to see your dearest mummiefied and pined to a wall ? I´m living with fairies all my life and I need to tell you we have to treat the little people! If you can see them or not doesn´t matter ! Believe in faeries and treat them and they´ll treat you. Please imagine how cool it would be to have a little fairy helper looking after your ill heart and heal your wounds.... Please do not pin them into a frame like dead butterflies (that´s cruel enough) ... on the other hand I don´t think that flying fairies would have bones. They are creatures of light and magic ;o)
Take care on you Debbie !!
Hugs, Silke
Im not sure I like the idea of poor mummified fairies but they do look cool and spooky so I think Ill be raiding Lolas box of craft bits for butterfly wings and having a go as Ihave lots of skeles! Would be good in the attic of our haunted house I think! Kate xx
I like the idea you have for this as to going in a frame... will look great. Would look great too if the frame kind of represented a coffin or was covered in bandages that had decayed.
Really like these... wish i'd thought of it.

Your mummified fairy looks really cool. I think that tissue paper would actually be easier to work with than the panty hose idea. I love how the wings turned out too!
