Well as you all know I had my appointment with the Cardiologist on Thursday.
Got to the Hospital had another ECG, then waited to see the Doctor.
Doctor is a Lady and I felt really comfortable with her. Very like me, no beating about the bush, direct and to the point, with a great sense of humour. She gave me a proper going over and actually said she was surprised having spoken to Paul my Cardiac Nurse, that I wasn't more swollen. She'd been expecting me to be rolled through the Door. See told you, she had a sense of humour. They calculate, that I am carrying approximately, three stone extra in fluid all over my body. To say I'm uncomfortable is putting it mildly.
While I was in her office, she said I want you to have a Heart Echo Scan, told her that I'd already had one last week. So she said wait here, I'm going to check it. Which she did. She said that she couldn't see anything untoward on it. The symptoms I'm showing, can be down to the right side of the Heart failing, but its not the case with me.
She now wants me to have a CT Scan so that she can get a more detailed 3D image of my Heart.
She did say that there could be a small blood clot behind the Heart, which could cause these symptoms or it could be the bag around the Heart has tightened up restricting the Heart. She wants this scan done to rule these things out. She has also upped the dosage of the water tablets to try and get rid of some of the fluid. Well I'm peeing more, so hopefully I will start seeing a difference in a few days.
So now its a case of waiting for the Scan and then once that's done going back to see her and hopefully get a diagnosis.
To keep me busy, I think I'm going to start sorting out the caravan and turning it in to my work room...

Good luck with everything Debbie.
Debbie..this lady doc sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders (and excellent grasp of the situation)...although it was annoying that she hadn't been given a report/copy of your sonogram.
Sounds like she doesn't think that any of your meds could be the culprit. Certainly anything that mechanically interfers with the effective pumping of the heart could result in the backup of fluid. Praying that the CT (which I hope will be done soon!) will give her the answers she needs to treat you properly.
I think of you all the time.

Ah, the medical world can be so frustrating sometimes, especially when it seems to take forever to get some answers. Hand in there, Debbie. Lots of good thoughts coming your way. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping this is all resolved soon. :)
Thinking of you lots Debbie. She will figure this out for you soon. I want you to feel better so bad. Hugs my friend~ Kim
Hope the doctors soon will find out the solution of your health problem and help you!
Whew, it seems that you have finally gotten a good doctor!
I had a CT scan last June and actually am going for another one this June . . . just something to keep in mind there has been some discussion about overexposure to radiation with these CT scans (in case you have to have more than one) and that's one of the reasons I postponed mine from Jan to July. My doctor said that my concerns were valid.
Are they going to use dye? If they do, let them know if you are allegic to anything as the dye can cause severe allegic reactions. My niece went into anaphylactic shock.
Keep us posted!
Hugs,
Marsha

It sounds like the lady knows what she is talking about, Debbie. Good luck with getting things right!
May they find a diagnosis soon to your health problem, and hit with the treatment, in order to relieve that discomfort you feel. Surely with all the evidence that make you find it soon. Many kisses and take care. Stephanie
I am glad your new doctor also has a sense of humour. Your humour and your spirit will get you through this in flying colours. I just wish it was not taking so long and you did not have so much discomfort. Working on your new workshop will take some of the stress away as you can lose yourself in pleasure of your hobby.
Hoping they find the issue quickly and fix it! And don't work too hard on the caravan--sounds like you need your rest. Head over and read my extra long blog post and keep your feet up! I had a lot to say today for some reason!
Glad you liked your lady doc. It helps to feel comfortable with your doctor.

I hope the CT scan appointment arrives soon! Great to hear that the Doctor had a good sense of humour too! My Consultant (s) who I saw about my knee were great too and it's so much easier to talk to them when they can share a laugh! :o)
Everything crossed for you! ;o) Don't do too much clearing out!

I wish I could whisk you away to the USA where you would have ALL of the testing you need in ONE day! It seems so unfair that you are having to wait so long for everything!
I do hope you pee pee pee and get rid of that fluid soon! There is a bathroom in the caravan, isn't there??
good luck debbie, your doc sounds great :0)
great idea too to distract yourself with the caravan, I hope you post pics as you sort it out ,

Dearest Debbie, I'm happy I made you giggle ;o)), at least can do that. i'm very sorry I did ot call or write to you but really I arrive at evenings so dumberd by tirednss that I forget everything. But I think of you if that helps and I wish you all the best. I used to put Matteo's feet in lukewarm water to help him pee when he underwent surgery as a child. It worked: may be I might help you too? I suggest a HUGE bathtub, with scented oils and a glass of chilled Martini. Just to feel more relaxed.I'm exagerating but the water really worked. Hugs Rosanna
Your doctor sounds level headed and just the thing for you. I certainly hope this is all taken care of soon so that you feel better. Thinking of you.

The lady doctor sounds like she knows what she is doing so you are in good hands. Hope all turns out well. x
P.S. A work space in the caravan sounds like a great idea.

A good sense of humour and common sense should both be required when doctors first start their training and I'm so pleased you've got one at last with the right idea about your situation and the ability to joke with you about it without offending. Good luck with the diagnosis and treatment Debbie, I hope it all goes well.
As always, women are the best, even in the medical field ... I am sure that you are now in good hands, I expect updates and I hope that everything goes well, soon ... Meanwhile in the caravan bring a bag of diapers, you never know you had to piss away too much while you're working ... LOL!!

Came right over when I saw a new post on update by you :). I hope with the CT Scan, they can either find out what's the problem or at least rule those 2 possibilities out. They don't sound good.
Working in the caravan may help you lose more water if you perspire :). Rosanna's pee proof plan sounds great too except you may have very prune feet :):). But she made me smile too lol!
I hope you get some good news soon! Glad to hear you had a good doctor as well.
I hope you will soon find a reason to your swelling thanks to the doctor (she seems great). In the meantime try to relax a bit.
Geneviève
Thanks for the health update. Keeping fingers crossed all is well. Thank goodness for funny, smart, women doctors!
Wish I was a doctor and could help you!
