Street Corner by Vic Newey

 Here's the Street Corner made by Vic Newey, that I brought from a Miniaturist Friend, with the money that my Hubby's Parents gave me for my Birthday. Thank you Kath & Mick.

It matches my Diagon Alley, so I'm thrilled to have it, as Vic is not making any more.

The Shop front Sign is currently for the Village Store, but I'll be changing this to fit in with my Diagon Alley Street Scene. I am debating about turning this into Borgin & Burkes, the shop frequented by the Malfoy Family, in Knockturn Alley. The wonderful Beggar Lady, is made by Jain Squires, The Giddy Kipper and looks quite at home propped up by the window.

More Birthday Gifts..

 More Birthday presents this time from Ben & Harry, they brought me another two kits from the Petite Properties range, the 1:48th Candlewick House & the 1:144th Flower Pot Cottage. They also brought me a new professional clay extruder, as my old push one seems to have disappeared and a beautiful bunch of Yellow & White Lilies, which are still blooming their hearts out.

The China Mug and Coaster were a joke present from Hubby.

 The Cauldron Fire Pit / Barbecue was a real surprise present, I've wanted one for ages. After getting the Tudor House, I never expected any other presents, so when I walked out to the Kitchen before Dinner and saw this sitting there, I was totally surprised. I can't wait to use it in the Summer.

My Hubby's Parents, gave me some money for my Birthday and I've used that to purchase a Special Miniature, which was made by Vic Newey. It's extra special as Vic, is no longer making. I'll show it in another blog post.

Birthday Gifts....

 As you know, I'm working on Desdemona's Home For Orphaned & Abandoned Dragons & Other Magical Creatures. Well my friend Debra made and sent me a few little creatures for Desdemona to care for, for my Birthday. They look great in the treatment room. I promise to show some more up to date pictures of the renovations shortly.

The Hat & the Potion bottle were from Michael, who I had the pleasure of meeting at Kensington, last year.

The little Rabbit on the Chair and the teeny tiny little Mouse, were gifts from the wonderful Jain Squires, otherwise known as The Giddy Kipper.

All the Gifts were unexpected pleasures and were much appreciated. As were the lovely cards & emails from other Miniature Friends.

The Birthday House ~ The Tudor Two

 Well here it is in all its Glory, the Dolls House that I got for my Birthday.

Its a Genuine Timber Framed Tudor House in 1:12th Scale, hand crafted by David Fulton.

There are two buildings joined in the very centre by a balcony and adjourning doors.

In the smaller House on the left as you look at the House, there are three rooms, in the larger house on the right there are four rooms. It has transformer controlled electric lighting, that resembles Candle light. All the front panels are removable, allowing access to the spacious rooms.

Its a huge property it stands 115.5cm in height ~ 105.5cm in Width and 54cm Deep.

I'm still thinking about what to turn this into but it will be Witchy. My thoughts at the moment are, either a Witch/Wizard School or a Witch/Wizard Tavern along the lines of the Hogs Head or the Leaky Cauldron. Needs some thinking about before I rush in, as my ideas could completely change tomorrow. 

 I also got some fabulous miniatures from Family and Friends. I'll show them in another post and another surprise present from Hubby, Ben & Harry that has nothing to do with Miniatures or Dolls Houses, but something I've wanted for a long time.

A Milestone Month...

 Been a Milestone month for me, I reached half a Century, still can't quite believe I'm the big Five O.

I had a wonderful day with Friends and Family and was thoroughly spoilt. I had some wonderful gifts, that included lots of fabulous miniatures and a very beautiful, very special Dolls house. I'll show all of the miniatures & house in later post.

Unfortunately, Harry couldn't be with me on the day, as he was finishing his last week of Phase 2 training, but did ring me twice that day. He has now passed out, from his Phase 2 training and is a off to join his Regiment The Lifeguards ~ Household Cavalry, very shortly.

Laser Cut Dolls House.

For Christmas, I had another Dolls House. This is a Laser Cut kit, made from plywood, that was brought from a local seller on ebay. It has two Rooms and a pretty little Porch/Veranda. It reminds me of the American slot and tab, Dolls House Kits. I've never put this sort of kit together before, so will be visiting Casey's Blog for some pointers, as I know she's quite a dab hand at doing them. 

 I have no idea what to turn this into yet, so any ideas, gratefully received.

We worked the measurements into inches, and it roughly equates to 1:12th. There are some other fabulous kits on there, but do check the sizes as some are more 1:24th Scale and there are also Train scale models on there. We paid a little extra for the whole kit to be primed white. Makes it easier to paint and helps to prevent warping.

It is made from 4mm Birch Ply and measures: 450mm Wide, 398mm Depth & 439mm High.
