What a Day..

Been one of them day's again, too much to do, and so little time.
First off, I needed to go food shopping, as much as my family like my miniature food they can't eat it. So off to Tesco's, we went, called in the Builders Yard on the way back to order some blocks and wood for the Stables. Then from there to our Farmer's store,to pick up food for the Chicken's and Ponies and to get some Wormer's. Straight home unpacked and put away the shopping. Then down to the Stables to muck out, and feed all my little lovelies. (For those of you that don't read my other blog, Hericus Miniature Shetlands, I have 23 Miniature Shetland Ponies.. And Counting...See I have a thing about Miniature things, in every shape and form). Then noticed that Magic, had somehow, managed to get his coat and neck cover off, so off I set across the field's to find it. Just got back to the Stable Yard and our delivery arrived from the builders yard. Then had to help unload 50 blocks, as they weren't on the lorry with the Hiab (Crane). After the delivery driver had gone, I needed to clear one of the new stables, so that we could get the plywood sheets in there, ready to be cut and put on the back of the Stable doors. Phew...
Since then I've been sorting out some Miniature Glass, to photograph and send via email to Nikki, and made a few phone calls and try and do a quick catch up on every ones blog entries today. (Sandra's on a roll, I've been over there 3 times already today. Zombie Squirrel's indeed). The one good thing about sorting, was I found the bag of liquorice allsorts that I made ages ago, so I can now fill a couple of Jars in "Honeydukes". Those Allsort's keep disappearing and turning up all over the place. And as for the box I opened it, and closed it again...

I Opened The Box...

This evening I opened the Greenleaf Village kit box. I'm going to have to have a good read of all the instructions, before I start anything. There's reams of instructions, 4 wood templates, windows, trims, the list goes on. Jasper looked just as flummoxed as me....
I've also got another two followers since this morning, Hello to Merylu who has a blog called Petite Fraise Handmade. And also Sandra, who's wonderful blog Tales From A Toymaker, I wrote about yesterday. Sandra has added the follower gadget to her blog today. As I always say, go over and say Hi...

Update On Mick's Thumb..

Took these photo's this morning, just before Mick went to the Doctor's to have the offending article checked and redressed. It's healing nicely, and you can actually see some nice new pink skin growing under the scab..

Greenleaf Kit. #8016

Remember yesterday, you know the day of good intentions! Meant to tell you about a Greenleaf Kit, that I found out in the Garage. I have no idea how long I've had it, and for the life of me can't remember where I got it from.
Well I've been reading the box today, it's called the Greenleaf Village Kit #8016. It contains six buildings, which include a Store, Carriage House, Victorian house, (which is a replica of the Arthur Dolls house), Church, Tudor House and School House. The scale is 1/4" - 1'. Now I've never put together a slot and tab house before. But never fear Casey is here! I've been reading Casey's blog, for some time and she is currently putting together a slot & tab house. So I'll be watching closely for any tips and hints.
Please ignore the state of the box, it has been in the garage and we did have swallows nesting in there, and they were firing on all cylinders. Need I say anymore....
If anyone has ever put this kit together before or knows anything about it, I'd be very glad of any information, before I attempt to open the box....

Another Wonderful Blog - Tales From A Toymaker

Yesterday, while trawling the web for more mini links, I came across Tales From A Toymaker, its written by Sandra Morris of Tower House Dolls and Diminutive Dolls. It is one of the most entertaining blogs, I've read. You've got to read it from the start, so make sure you've got a couple of hours spare, it had me chuckling especially the post about the Fat Squirrel.. (you really have to read it). It was started to show how, she was constructing a Victorian/Edwardian Toy Shop, but includes like mine, her daily ramblings and adventures. Hope you don't mind me saying that Sandra. No offence meant.
Now thinking about it, I'm sure in amongst my wonderful stash of Miniatures, that are still to be extracted from the Garage, that I actually have some of Sandra's Dolls..

I Love Lilies..

Took these photo's today of the beautiful Lilies that Mick brought me on the 27th December. Haven't they lasted well. Mind you they were all tight buds when he gave them to me. I love Lilies and they smell wonderful. They cheered me up today, when I came in from the cold. We are expecting the temperature to drop to minus 10 tonight. Just noticed that I've missed some pollen on one of the Lilies. Must make sure I get them off, as I don't know whether you know, that Lily pollen is poisonous to Cats. If it gets on their fur and they lick it.
