Lotions & Potions

Lotions & Potions have been put into the shop window. Thank goodness for Tacky Wax to hold all the bottle and jar tops on. Harry helped me fill them all. Still loads more to put in there.
Most of the Chemist bottles & jars were made by my dear friends Ed & Mary of Whitewood Glass. None of this imported rubbish, this is made from proper Pyrex Glass. Every piece is hand made so no two are exactly the same. Ed is great I just tell him what I want and Aye Presto its made..

Flourish & Blotts

Been filling up the window of Flourish & Blotts, with all the Magical Books that I've been collecting. The second shelf up in the window display, is filled with all the School books (see Archive 17th November 2007) for Hogwarts. The books on the top and bottom shelves are all readable Magic Books with illustrations.
Vic Newey made the Street Scene, it is normally made in a Dickensian Theme, but I asked Vic to change it to Diagon Alley. His work is fantastic. Just take a look at his site...

Witchy Cat...

Nearly forgot about another cat that I brought from Annie Wills of Fine Design.. This one is a proper Witchy Cat...

Meet Hagrid

I commissioned Hagrid from Judith Laird better known as Crumpled and Rumpled.
She does the most amazing characters, take a look at her web site. When I asked Judith to make Hagrid, I wanted him true to the book, so he is larger in height and statue. In the books, it says that Hagrid, always carries lots of things in his pockets including string. If you look closely at his pocket you can see string poking out. I also wanted him to be holding his Pink umbrella, which conceals his wand. Oops I shouldn't have said that!

Miniature Owls..

Took these photo's this evening of the Miniature Owls that I brought from Annie Willis of Fine Design, for Diagon Alley. Annie also made me a Phoenix, but think he looks a bit too posh for Fawkes.
Diagon Alley has now been moved downstairs to the Lounge, so that I can start filling it with all the goodies I've been collecting over the last couple of years. I also commissioned Anne to make me two Border Collies, don't know whether I'll be using them in the Alley yet, but they will be going in one of my houses. They've all been packed away very carefully in a box since we moved here. Last but not least is the Tabby Cat, who will eventually reside in the Apothecary.

Finished Planting..

Today, I finally finished planting the bank in the little paddock, with all the Plants that Jackie gave me. I'd just finished and was taking a couple of pictures, when the Heaven's opened. Well at least the plants have had a good watering in.
If your wondering what the white circles are around the plants, they are organic slug pellets. It looks a bit like cat litter, but is totally harmless to all other animals except slugs and snails. I hope it works as the slugs & snails have decimated my pansies.

More Birds Of Prey..

Firstly, I must answer a question Swallowtail asked about the Buzzards. Yes that is what we call them in the UK. They are very like a hawk. They are magnificent in the air, but look so funny when they are on the ground hopping about.
Meant to share these other photo's I took at the Welsh Game Fair this year in the Falconry Tent. I love the Owls. We have a couple of Owls in the Woods that border our fields, they drive Merlin potty when they are calling in the night. But as yet I've not been lucky enough to see them.
I have another follower on this blog. Hello Deborah from the United States.
This morning I popped over to see my friend Diane for a Cuppa and catch up. A couple of her horses are quite poorly at the moment and she's having to inject them with antibiotics, rather her then me, I can't stand needles, especially when there coming my way. This afternoon, I've spent planting more plants in the bank. Will try and take some photo's of how its coming along tomorrow.
