Busy.

Took Harry to Hospital on Tuesday for his check up. He had another lot of X-Ray's and the bone has started to come together, although one bit has gone over the top of the other. The consultant has told Harry to keep the sling on during the day, but he can take it off of a night now. Also told him that he cannot play any sport for another 12 weeks. He has to go back on 22nd July, for another check up and X-Ray. Hopefully by then the shoulder will be healed.
Been really busy outside over the last couple of days. More info over on Hericus blog.
Got my first show of the season on Saturday, so will be getting ready for that tomorrow.

Happy Anniversary..

Well its mine and Mick's 19Th Wedding Anniversary today and also Tash & Geoff's Wedding Anniversary as well. Its also my friend Ruth's Birthday. So best wishes everyone, hope your all enjoying your day.. Thank you to those who remembered and sent cards, and thanks Mick & Kath for the cheque.
Doing a little bit of bonding in the kitchen today. Just filling in where the new electric points have been chased in the wall. So its already for Colin when he comes to do the rendering and plastering.
Was really busy here yesterday, had the Blacksmith here all afternoon.
Going to try and get to Swansea tomorrow and on Thursday we have the Vet coming to do the Stallion Assessments, so another couple of busy days ahead.
Harry was out with the school yesterday on a field trip and hike, he seemed to have enjoyed it, even though his arm is still in a sling.
Ben and Harry both have exams today, so keeping my fingers crossed that they both do well.
Nothing else much to report...

Sunday..

Well its been lovely here today, Sun's been shining and we managed to get loads of bits done outside. As promised took some pictures of the new retaining wall that's going in, around the Kitchen. We are putting in new steps up to the Patio, these have started to be cut out, but want to finish the wall first.
In the bottom picture you can just see Mose's sticking his head out of the cat flap!

Busy...

Sorry for the lapse in my blog.. Been really busy here, mostly outside, while the weather has been good. (Please see Hericus blog). The weather has been wonderful, well up until today, its now raining bucket loads.
Colin our builder has been round and the wall in the kitchen has now dried out enough for it to be re-rendered and plastered. Oh I can't wait for it to be finished, really fed up with it at the moment. Hopefully, he will be here within the next two weeks, then once its dried I can get painting. Be so nice to have it finally finished. The trench outside has been levelled and the block work, has started to go in as a retaining wall. Which will eventually be rendered and painted, so we will have a walk way, completely round the kitchen. Will take some pictures, when it stops raining. Also been a bit of an ongoing saga about the boundary at the end of our field. Needless, to say I wasn't a happy bunny and had to contact a Solicitor. Hopefully, it will be sorted soon, as the cottage is now under offer. Colin came to have a look at what was needed there, just need to write the letter now, to the owner.
Harry has been back at school since last week, seems to be managing well with the brace and sling, the teachers are letting him out a few minutes earlier after his classes, so that he doesn't get shoved about in the corridors and at the end of school. He has exams next week.
Ben had his school Prom last week at one of the local Hotel's, he really enjoyed himself. He's currently on study leave, but went into school on Wednesday for one exam. He has another 3 days in school next week for exams, then off Thursday and Friday.

Picture.

Took this picture of Merlin yesterday. He is totally fascinated by our new arrivals. He patrols up and down the fence all the time their out. But he's realised that if he jumps up, he can now lean over the fence to get a closer look. Caught in the act..

Thursday...

Well for everyone that's been asking Karen is now at home resting after giving all of us a shock. I spoke to her on Tuesday and it was such a relief to hear her voice. Get Well Soon Karen, we love you..
Also managed to get the rest of the fencing done.. In our bottom field, the cottage gardens back on to us. I was quite concerned that maybe our ponies would be able to get out, as the old fencing was hanging on by a wing and a pray. Its not our responsibility to renew the fencing but the cottage owners, however I'd rather be safe then sorry and we've put up some post and rails to keep the ponies in.
The Cottage at the bottom nearest us, is up for sale, now if you remember last year they had the really old cottage knocked down, next to our boundary and put up a fence to keep the ponies in. But by doing that some of our land is on the other side of the fence. Because as they pulled the Cottage down it caused the earth to slide, and made a sheer drop. In the Picture you can see the workman holding the post to be bashed in where our boundary lays. Thank goodness I took loads of pictures. Rang the owner last night and told him that we want in writing where the boundary is, as don't want any problems with the new owners and also that a boundary wall needs to be instated. He's agreed to put it all in writing, as I had to warn him that if he didn't we would consult our Solicitor., and he's already told us they want a quick sale. We also rang the Estate Agent and advised them of the situation, which they had already been made fully aware of.
