I'm Cooking Teeth...

Cooking teeth what a strange thing to say.. But I am.. Remember the Creepy Carnivorous Cabbages, that I made for Nikki. Well Nikki told one of her customers about the Cabbages and I now have a commission to make a crate full for John, the gorier the better. Now having never made them before making Nikki's, I did have a few problems with the teeth, getting the tricky little blighter's to stick in the mouth's. Well I think I've solved the problem, with thanks to Nikki for her idea's. I'm making double pointed teeth so that they can be pushed into the soft clay without losing shape and then re-baked.
I'll take some more photo's when their finished to show you the finished articles... Off to make the Cabbages now...

  1. So fun that you have an order for those cute but creepy cabbages.
I´ve just reseved my first order on a room box for my childhood friend and making money on it.

  2. Hi Debbie.
Forgot to say about your cabbages that before you poke in the double ended teeth use a needle first that is wet on the end and make little holes before the pointed teeth.
It stops the clay being squashed as you stick in the teeth.
Also lots of people glue such things in with liquid fimo but i think pva is just as good and you can then bake.

  4. This is what I just love about miniaturists.

We think that having conversations about carnivorous cabbages is completely normal.

And talking of creepy, I'm currently working on an extremely creepy 1/12 scale ventriloquist's dummy.
    He's actually scaring ME now.

  8. I love these, Debbie! I need some for my witch's cottage garden! I'll have to study these and see if I could possibly do this! Although for all practical purposes, the witch's cottage is done, things can still be added along. Thanks for the well wishes for Ben. I'm sure he'll be fine. I just had to blog about it and put those pix on there even though it wasn't mini related!
