A New Work Space..........?????
I was having a discussion with Mick today, about having my own work space, like I did in our other House.
Now when we moved here, we lived in the House for a year to get a feel for the place, before buying the Static Caravan and moving into that while the builders gutted the house. Its now sitting outside doing absolutely nothing, other then becoming a dumping ground for all sorts of things.
I'd been out to the Garage today for a rummage, trying to find some flower pots for Nikki and to be honest, stuff is getting ruined out there and its a total nightmare trying to find anything. I'm sure there's Mickey's living in there and to be perfectly honest I have no idea what's out there now.
So I have decided that I'd like to take over the Caravan as my Work/Craft space. There's plenty of space in there and storage. It has electric, so I can have a cuppa and light, although the Loo isn't plumbed in, oh well I can come back indoors to use the Loo. Its pretty neutral in there, except for the hideous covers on the Sofa in the lounge part, but I'm sure I have some throws somewhere..
I can leave the bedrooms alone, just in case we need to use them for visitors, but that leaves me the Lounge and Kitchen. I think I can live with that. What do you think....?
Debbie how wonderful that would be for you to have your own work'shop'!!! I think it's brilliant! =D
ReplyDeleteOh wow Debbie. The possibilities are fantastic. You could have work areas, display areas and storage. And you can make a cup of tea without leaving the project you are working on. You can decorate it and make it so cosy and servicable. Wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteOh, Debbie, I'd be in heaven and you know I would probably just want to LIVE there LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs,
M
WOOT! DEbbie, I think it is a great idea! I think any artist should have her own studio space. This looks perfect. Lots of storage. How's the light? Anyway...go for it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea...and all that room! I am soooo jealous :)
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes!!! Your very own cozy cottage! Looks like there is plenty of room and light too. Great idea Debbie. Now don't you go lifting and hauling things out of the garage! Let the boys do that! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh Debbie it's absolutely fabulous! Loads of space and loads of storage too and if you get a bit tired you can have a snooze on the bed! lol ;o)) I'm sure you could get the loo sorted out....but as you say, you can always pop indoors AND you can make a cup of tea….bliss!. It will be so much better to have a proper area to work in and keep all your mini's close to hand. ;o)

I have to say if i had the caravan in my garden i'd have moved in yonks agao and would never have been seen again, lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fantastic place for you to work, you can make drinks, have something cooking and have a nap when needed in the bedroom.
Infact i may even have to come and move in with you.
Will be fantastic for you and you can make it your gallery too for the houses you have.
Won't take much to get it how you like it either.
Wish i could come and help you set it all up, then maybe move into it too with you too.
Go for it totally i say!
Oooh i so want one too!

It sounds better than perfect! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I am pea green with envy. It is like a dream. If I were in your place, the family would have to drag me out by the hair! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour static caravan as a workshop sounds like a very good plan Debbie - go for it. I so wish I had some space I could use. My husband has a small workshop in the back garden and the spare bedroom for an office, but my home office space is a corner of the living/dining room, and creative space is the dining room table!
ReplyDeleteWow! It is perfect, you will never have to return home again...lol!
ReplyDeleteYou will be the envy of us all, enjoy your new/own space.

What a wonderful idea! Time to get those boxes moving into those cupboards that are just waiting to be used.
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie, that looks like a perfect workshop. A place to work, have a cup of tea, rest and make a mess, and the house stays clean! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic, what a perfect studio area! So handy to have a kitchen area too!
ReplyDeleteOh goody, that looks like a fun place to turn into a workshop. I am busy redesigning it already.
ReplyDeleteLots of cupboards and room for a miniature tablesaw, router table and drill press in the dining area.
Rip out all the carpets, practical flooring only. Practical workshop lighting too.
Forget the slip cover, remove the couch altogether and install a big U-shaped wrap around work table. Lovely natural light to help you see better. Rolling chair in the middle so you can get to all the luxury table space. A few rolling carts of drawer stacks that will tuck under the table to handle frequently used project supplies and tools.
You may want a grey water drain on that kitchen sink so you can wash up paint brushes, tea cups and such.
WOW, it is a huge work space to making minis, with so many possibilities...
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky girl!!! :))
Hugs,
Paloma
That will make a wonderful work space and be peaceful too, you can just shut the door on the world. Fabalous! I am soooo jealous. Can't wait to see you settling into it :0)

ReplyDeleteI have today been cleaning and sorting my workroom. What a job, but so good when I was done. Will take some pictures some other day, but have to hurry before I mess it up again;)
You go girl!! What a fantastic workspace the caravan would be and how fun to be able to decorate it as YOU want!!
ReplyDeleteMercedes
WOW!! great place and a very good idea! I think to have our own workroom is just great. (I love mine too)
ReplyDeleteI am reading your posts backward from today till this one. I am sorry for the ordeal that you had to go through, dear Debbie! I was at Rosanna's when we read your post on the heart scan. I am so happy to find a comment from you on my last post and hope that that's a sign that you are getting better. Are you?
ReplyDeleteAre you well enough to decorate this to die for caravan? I want one too, badly badly :):).
My goodness that is a huge caravan! It will be perfect for your mini making!
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea!
