Accidents Do Happen...

Yes, that's me strapped to the bed in a neck brace. Mick and I were involved in a nasty car crash on Sunday, which was not our fault. The Driver of the other Car pulled right across the road in front of us and we literally had no where to go. The force of the impact pushed the car off the road and we came to a stop, literally ten inches from a solid slate wall. Unfortunately, we both ended up in hospital. Mick had bad whip lash and they thought I had broken my neck!. I can honestly say it was extremely scary, especially after all I thought was wrong, was bruising to my sternum and whiplash. But when I was examined and they saw how tender and swollen my neck was. I was put in a neck brace, then strapped to a bed. I can understand why some people freak out, it one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. You feel very claustrophobic. Thankfully after 6 hours and loads of X-rays they decided that my neck wasn't broken, but I have torn all the ligaments and muscles in my neck and shoulders. The Doctor warned me that the pain, would get worse, before it gets better, as it takes up to 10 days for all the bruising to come out. I got up yesterday and hurt in places, I didn't even know I had. I'm just so thankful that we are not as badly injured as they first thought. We've certainly got someone looking after us. So most of this week has been taken up with trying to sort out stuff with the insurance, getting the Rental Car delivered and yesterday the Police came to take a statement from Mick and I. The other driver has admitted it was his fault, so we are hoping that it doesn't drag on for too long.
Ben made this lovely Apple Cake to cheer us up and I have to say it's yummy and I'll definitely be getting him to make it again.
Harry is on work experience this week, with one of our friends and is loving every minute. His School actually broke up yesterday for Summer. It's the Royal Welsh Show next week, so the Schools generally break up before the schools in England, so that the Farming Families can attend. So he's off now till September!!!!
Last night, at approx Midnight there was something digging on our muck heap. Now we have no light pollution here and it is Pitch Black of a night. If you look at the bottom picture up on the left hand side, can you make out the Grey Shape. It was a Badger, it was totally unfazed at us watching it and carried on merrily digging for worms. I'm hoping that if it comes back tonight, that I might be able to get some better pictures.

Eggs, Baby Birds & Cages...

A couple of weeks ago Janice, showed some fabulous Miniature Cages on her blog.
They are just what I've been looking for, for Eeylops Owl Emporium and Janice, very kindly shared the link to the Etsy Shop, from where she brought them. I went over to have a look and ended up ordering six of the little Cage's. Well they arrived yesterday, actually much sooner then I expected and I have to say they are really lovely. I just need to get some chain, as I want to hang them from the ceiling in Eeylops. The seller also very kindly included some little charms, which I'm sure will come in handy either in my Miniatures or my Scrapbooks. There are some fabulous charms, in this Etsy shop, lots of which could be used in our Miniature Hobby. I did notice some Tiny little Eiffel Towers in there and some tiny glass bottles. I ended up spending nearly an hour looking through there, so be prepared.
On the home front, while up in the top of the field, a few weeks ago, we found a tiny Blue and White empty Egg Shell, right next to the Hedge. We think it belongs to a Robin, as there are quite a few of them nesting up there. But I could be totally wrong on the species and it might belong to something else.
We have lots of Swallows/House Martins nesting around our house under the eaves, but they are also nesting in our Wood Store and in the Stables. The Cats are being constantly dive bombed, by the Adults, trying to protect their babies.
We knew one of the Nests in the Stables had Chicks in, but until yesterday we haven't been able to see them. I walked in there with the camera and a couple of the Chicks were peeking out of the top of the nest, not at all fazed by me and the camera. There are definitely Four Chicks in there, but we think there could be five. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger, so you can get a good look. I just love all the fluff around their heads, they look so snug in the nest and so cute...

New Chicken House...

Forget to show this on my blog. In May it was mine and Mick's Wedding Anniversary.
Mick's parents gave us some money to get something that we wanted. Now normally any spare cash we have, gets swallowed up by bill's. But not this year, I was determined that we would have something that we needed.
Our Chickens, have been living in the Railway Carriage in the Stable Yard, but the roof is leaking and we've also had problems with vermin. So I wouldn't eat the Eggs or use them in case they'd been contaminated.
So we used the money to get a new Hen House and a small Duck House.
I originally saw the Hen House in Wilkinson's or Wilko's, but it was out of stock.
So I shopped around on the Internet, as the prices really varied and ended up getting the Hen House from Pet P ads, and the Duck House from Ebay.
The Chickens and the Cockerel, really like their new pad and the Duck who also lives with a Cockerel, seem very happy in their little house together. I really like the new set up as the Coop can be moved around, instead of it being in one place and its much easier to keep clean.
Today, I went to a local Nursery, where they also sell Point Of Lay Birds and brought another couple of Chickens. I'll get some pictures, once they have all settled in together..

Who Is Biscuit - Can Anyone Help ????

Today, I was contacted by a lovely Lady named Laura.
She is trying to trace any information on her Rescued Miniature Shetland Pony, who is called Biscuit.
Biscuits story is that he was found around 2006/07 . Laura was told, by the rescue centre, that he had been thrown out of a transit van, over a 5 bar gate into a farmers field and dumped. He was taken to a small family owned rescue centre in Kent (which closed down last year). But he wasn't Micro-chipped, which he is now. Laura got Biscuit from the rescue centre 3 years ago in July 2008 and has spent lots of time, building his trust in people again. The first three pictures are from Laura's & Biscuits first show last weekend. As you can see he is a much loved Pony now.
Biscuit is around 31-33 inches tall and was an entire Stallion when dumped. The rescue centre had him gelded, and their Vet estimated his date of birth as approximately 1998.
Laura would really like to know his history and also be able to register him with the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society.
Laura is sure he was once owned by some nice people and was maybe stolen to cover mares and then dumped. She contacted me, as on reading my blog, she saw, that we came from Kent and wanted to know if we'd lost or had a Pony Stolen.
So does anyone recognise him? or have any information that could help Laura, track Biscuits breeding?
Any help would be gratefully received.
I've posted this on both blogs as I know a lot of my friends read this one...xxx

Just thought I'd share these pictures , that I've been taking around the place. Fabulous Foxgloves and the Flowers that are in my hanging baskets.
If you look closely at a couple of the photographs, you can actually see the Bee's about to go into the flowers. I've not planted any of the Foxgloves, they have just self seeded everywhere.

These Beautiful Miniature Hats were made by my friend Kat. Everyone that knows me, knows that I have a terrible addiction for Kat's Hat's. I've given up counting how many I have now..

When Kat first showed this Leather Top Hat, I fell in Love with it. I emailed Kat, and asked very nicely if I could buy it and the rest they say is History.
Now Kat being the lovely Lady that she is, also included the little Purple Hat with the Mad Jazzy Feathers.

As you know, I've been having some problems with my Computer. It's an on going saga, but hopefully once Ben finishes University, he is taking it over to his friends to get it sorted again, hopefully once and for all. Or else I can see me lobbing the Bl***y thing, out the door.
While all the data was being transferred to the external hard drive. I came across quite a few pictures and miniatures that I haven't shared with you.

These are some wonderful Miniature Wands that I purchased from Lorraine over at Dollhouse Mini's by Dfly Creations blog. Lorraine also has an Etsy Shop, where you can purchase her wonderful creations. At the moment she has some lovely Wand Box Stacks with a Wand. They would look amazing in a Miniature Ollivanders Wand Shop. The Skeleton wand, I purchased is amazing, considering just how tiny it is.

My eldest Son Ben and his Girlfriend Courtney attended the Aberystwyth University May Ball, a couple of weeks ago.
Ben told me that there would be a Bungee there and that he intended to do a jump. Well me being his Mum, first thought that he was joking and then when he said he wasn't, asked him not to. I have a terrible fear of heights and the thought of him jumping from this crane, well it made me feel physically sick.
Courtney, didn't want him to do it either and was crying even before he got the harness on, she was really frightened for him. She said when he did the jump, he looked like a Rag Doll hanging from the line. But give her, her due, she managed to take the pictures of him jumping. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger.
That Blue Dot hanging on the end of that elastic, is my Boy... So glad I wasn't there, think I'd have been sick. Thankfully nothing went wrong and he said it was brilliant.
Apparently Ben has a Bucket List, nineteen and has a bucket list, gawd knows what else is on there. Think its best he doesn't tell me. And there was me, thinking that Harry my youngest, was the Dare Devil....

Happy Anniversary Mick.
We've been married Twenty Two years today. Time seems to have flown by, can't believe its gone so quickly..
Must admit, there are times when I could have strangled him and I'm sure the feeling is mutual. But we've weathered many a Storm together, got through some really bad times, supported each other and we are still smiling. So we must be doing something right. Not quite sure what, but something..

On the other Home front still having problems with my computer, the documents and 22,000 photographs have been transferred to an external hard drive. Told you I love taking photographs. Just waiting for Ben to finish his exams next week at University, then he will be able to take my poorly computer, over to his friends to give it a proper going over. They think something is corrupted on the Hard Drive. I have no idea what they are talking about, so will leave it to those that do...I'm totally lost without a fully functioning computer, just shows how we rely on all this technology, especially out here in the sticks.

He Has A Name...

After much debate, since this little one has been born. Harry has finally decided to call him Draconius, Draco for short.

Now That Was A Shock....

Now that was a shock, in the nicest possible way.
Tiger Lily has been bagged up for a few days and we've been expecting her to Foal at any time.
But having checked on her, in the Barn last night at 12.30, before we went to bed, she was busy munching away on the Hay.
So when we went down this morning to let the Ponies out, it was a shock to find this little one. Tiger Lily, had obviously given birth in the early hours of this morning, to a lovely Skewbald Coloured Colt, as yet he doesn't have a name.
I also spent some time up in the field today, with my Camera and managed to get some video footage of the Foals which I'm sharing over on Hericus Blog, if you'd like to have a look. There are three very short videos., which I must say have taken forever to load onto YouTube. Enjoy...xxxx

Pictures & Update

Just thought I'd give everyone an update.
Both the Foals are doing well and are having fun, running round in the lovely weather we've been having, up until today. It is currently tipping it down, which is good, as we need the rain to make the Grass & the Hay grow. The ground is rock hard.

Update on my computer! Well the external hard drive has arrived. Now everything needs to be transferred over onto that, before the hard drive on the PC gets messed around with. I'm totally paranoid, that I'm going to lose all my documents and photographs. I just hope everything can be transferred and that nothing gets lost.
Ben, has very kindly lent me his lap top, so I am able to get on line, but he really needs this for University, so don't know how long I'll be on line for. With all that's been going on here. I've got hundreds of emails to go through as well, so if you've emailed me and I haven't answered please bear with me. Foals and Family are taking priority at the moment.
Will be putting lots of pictures over on the Hericus Blog today, as don't want them getting lost or deleted.

Another Miniature Delivery..

Look what we found last night just before we were going to bed. We missed the actual birth by minutes as the Foal was still soaking wet, we think he was born at approx 11.30 - 11.45pm.
The first three pictures were taken last night, the rest I took early this morning. If you click on them, they should pop up bigger.
He seems full of Beans this morning and has been bouncing around the stable, like a little lamb!
He has the most beautiful colouring, Cream Dun with a darker Dorsal stripe.
You can only imagine the relief to have another live Foal. I've been having a cuddle this morning. He's gorgeous.
I think the Boys want to call him Demetrius, which means lover of the earth, given to the Earth goddess Demeter.
He's out in the field with his Mum Lemoney, at the moment, meeting his new play mate Dioynsus and soaking up the Sunshine. Ben's just gone up there with the Camera, so I'm looking forward to seeing what pictures he's able to get..

Better Then An Easter Egg..

This morning I took an early morning stroll down to the Stables and look what I found. Far better then an Easter Egg.
Chrizzy had not long given birth to a beautiful Colt Foal. His Sire is Birchwood Viscount. He is a strong little thing and has been jumping around like a Spring Lamb.
He went out in the little Paddock with his Mum for a few hours in the Sunshine, but we've got them in now as its really hot.
This little one has been named and will be called Dionysus, who was the great Olympian god of wine, vegetation, pleasure and festivity.

Not A Good Friday.

Hi everyone this is Ben, writing this blog post for Mum.
Mum was worried that the baby wasn't feeding very well last night, so milked the Mum and gave it to the foal. This morning Mum was down the Stables really early and the Foal seemed really cold. Mum put a chair in the Barn and Dad and Mum took it in turns, to sit with the Foal on their laps to warm it up. She rang the emergency Vet, who advised warming the foal as we were doing and rubbing some Honey on its gums to stimulate the sucking reflex. Which we did. Mum also milked Tinkerbell to keep the milk flowing and to keep it in the fridge.
Mum gave me the Foal to hold while she popped indoors and the Foal started labouring. By the time Mum got back to me, the Foal had died in my arms.
Mum is distraught and won't be around for a while. As you can imagine she is now totally stressed out and desperately worried about the other Mums. Especially as we have already lost Lil and her Foal. Its all been very traumatic as Mum Loves her Ponies very much.
I just wanted to let you all know on Mum's behalf.

New Miniature Arrival

Last night as we went to get the Mum's to be in for the night. Harry shouted down the field, that Tinkerbell was in Labour. The bag appeared as he got to her. Then one foot appeared, but not the other. I tried to feel where, the other leg was, but couldn't find it. Panic set in, as I was terrified that we were going to lose another Foal and Mare. I rang the Vet and Angus was here within minutes. He immediately gelled up and found the other leg, which he brought forward. He then attached some rope to the foals legs and a winch and assisted Tinkerbell with the birth. I can honestly say what sheer relief it was, as I saw the foal was breathing. Angus gave Tinks a shot of pain killers and another of Antibiotics, as it had been quite traumatic for her. It's her first Foal.
Debie and the Poppets are staying with us at the moment and watched this Saga going on. Although Debie did take the little man indoors, until I knew that the Foal was alive. Debie, has got all the new born pictures on her Camera, which Megan and Beth took so can't share them with you at the moment.
Once Tinkerbell had settled down a bit, we moved her and her baby into the Barn so that we could keep an eye on them.
These Pictures were taken this morning. Tinks and her baby are doing really well. Baby is feeding well and Tinks has really bonded with her. The Filly Foal (Girl), has yet to be named. We use the Gods and Goddesses names, and this year we are on the letter "D". We were debating up till Midnight last night what to call her, but we are still undecided. I'm sure she will have a name by the end of today. It looks like we could have another arrival or two by the end of the week. So everyone, please keep your finger's crossed for safe arrivals..

In other news my Computer is still poorly, so Ben has let me upload this via his laptop. I need to get an external hard drive, to get all my pictures and documents off of my computer, before Tux can mess about with the hard drive, in case we lose everything. It's a total nightmare...

Oh Woe Is My PC

In case you've been wondering where I am. My poor PC is poorly and is away at Ben's friends being fixed.
It seemed everything went wrong all at once, first the loss of the foal, then Lil, then the PC. They say it comes in three's, so hopefully, we've had our share now.
Ben's friend Tux, is a computer whiz, so I know its in good hands and his payment for fixing it??? Cakes!!! He thinks I make exceeding good ones, so this weekend I'll be baking him Butterfly Cakes..LOL
Ben has let me borrow his laptop, while he is home from Uni for the Easter Holidays.
I've been totally lost without my computer. I was terrified, that I was going to lose all my pictures and documents stored on there. So I am going to invest in, an external hard drive to back them all up. As I can't afford a new computer, and dreading the arrival of the Vet's bill. I don't think any of us realise, just how much we rely on all this technology, what did we do before the World Wide Web????...
Hopefully, my computer will be back here, sometime this weekend or early next week. So if you've emailed me and I haven't answered I apologise, you now know the reason why.
Next week Debie and the Poppets are coming to stay. Debie, has treated herself to a new camera, so I'm looking forward to having a play around with that. Yes, its me that thinks her pictures are pants! LOL...Yes I can say that, cause I'm her mate, well I was...!!! Having seen Debie's sculpts in the Flesh, so to speak, I have to say her photography skills, do them absolutely no justice at all. I've asked her to bring the new sculpts with her, so that I can take some pictures of them.
Hoping to be back on line soon and back in the blogosphere catching up with every one's blogs. Until then have fun and I'll hopefully see you all soon...xxxx

I've also put lots of new links over on the Tiny Treasures Mini Link Page. Just to let everyone know that I may not be around for a little while. My Computer is poorly!!!! I downloaded an update for Firefox, Firefox 4 and unfortunately it's done something to the computer. Ben popped home for Mother's Day, on Sunday and spent ages trying to fix it. Can only get on line via Explorer at the moment and its taking ages to do anything. I'm hoping that Ben's friend, who's a whiz with computers, maybe able to fix everything for me, so my computer might be going off to the menders shortly. Ben said that I can borrow his laptop, when he comes home for the Easter Break. So at least I'll be able to get on line then!. I have been reading all your blogs, but may not have left comments as I was having problems with that as well. xxxx

Unfortunately our lovely Lil lost her battle yesterday.
Its been a very traumatic week for us all. Lil's gave birth on the early hours of Tuesday Morning and we found the Foal dead. Lil then became extremely ill and we have had the Vet here every day.
Her body just went into Toxic Shock, we tried everything to help her including intravenous antibiotics, pain killers, syringing Electro Light Solution into her and giving her injections of Penicillin. But by yesterday afternoon, I could see that she was in distress. So called the Vet out again and we agreed to let her go peacefully.
Thank you to everyone that sent messages of support this week, especially all my friends & family on facebook. We all really appreciated your kindness.
Lil will be greatly missed, as she was one of the most sweetest Pony's and we Loved her dearly..

Sorry Kat, but I blame you for this...
I was talking to Kat, the other day and s he wanted to know where to get hold of some miniature Bear fabric. Now me being me, told her not to worry, I have some somewhere and will dig it out for her, as I used to make Miniature Bears.
So I've started digging through loads of boxes and came across some of my own Miniature Bear Collection. Then decided that instead of putting them back in the boxes, would try and find some where to display them. Which meant moving loads of stuff around, so that I could get a free shelf in the display cupboard in the Boys sitting room. This was working wonderfully, then I came across another lot in another box and then some more. So I've had to cram them all on the shelf and I know me being me, there are some more somewhere.
Kat, I'm getting there and I am determined to find it. I'm going back for another rummage and could be some time...

Now most of you know that I do quite a lot of home baking. One of my specialities is Butterfly Cakes, which I have to say, don't last very long in this house.
Well, I had the most wonderful surprise, when I got up this morning and checked my Facebook.
My dear friend Kim, had tagged me in one of her photographs, so I went over to have a look.
What did I find?
Kim has reproduced my Butterfly Cakes, in Miniature.
Yes, those little Mini morsels are made from Polymer Clay. I think you'll agree with me, that Kim has done a fantastic job. I think they are absolutely brilliant...

Avon Resin Room Sets.....

Can you remember last year, I showed you all some Resin Room Sets, that were made by Avon, that I have in my collection. Well just before Christmas, while I was having a look through Ebay. I came across the two sets, that I had missing. The Bathroom Set and The Kitchen Set. I put in a bid on both sets and won them both. I'm over the moon with them, as its taken years to find them.
The only thing missing now is the House, that Avon did to display the collection. But I think this was only available in the States. (The top two photographs, I found on Ebay in one of the discussion groups). If you click on the pictures, they should pop up bigger. The little sets are 1:24th Scale and I do have a little 1:24th Cottage, that they would look lovely in, or I may have a go at building a little House, to hang on the wall, like the Avon House was supposed to...

Linda,has just contacted me about these sets, after seeing this post. Avon did them in Australia as well, but are totally different to ours. She kindly gave me a link to the Australian Ebay link, where you can also see the Family, that they did and the sets that we re available there. Linda has just taken a picture of the House she built for her sets of Resin Furniture. Its 2am in Australia and Linda, can't sleep as its too Hot, its 3pm here and freezing. I've asked her to send some of the Sunshine over here. Thank you so much for the picture and the links Linda, but I really think you should be in Bed now...LOL

Birthday Give Away..

Its a bit of a tradition now, that I have a Birthday Give away.
Well this year is no different. Although its a bit late.
Because its a Birthday Give Away, its a surprise as to what's in the box!
Last year it was a Bone China Bathroom Set, made by Robert Mack of Mack Fine China. Which was won by the lovely Doreen.
The year before it was a Reutter Gold Plated Porcelain Tea Set, that was won by Casey, although Tessie nabbed it.

Birthday Presents...

Well I know you've all been waiting, to see what I got in those presents. I was such a good girl and left them alone, else the temptation would have been too great to rip a little hole in the wrapping..
Ben & Harry, brought me the Flower Pot Cottage Kit, from Petite Properties Ltd. Which I wasn't allowed to open until Harry got in from School at 4pm this evening! I've had my eye on one of these kits for ages, and I'm glad to say my Boys do listen to their Mum. Really looking forward to putting this together.
I also got the Harry Potter Film Wizardry Book, which has already been written about by Kate & Michelle. I have to say its a brilliant book full of details that maybe we've all missed in the films. I Love it.
In the presents that Mick got me, were the Dragonology and Monsterology books that I wanted. To see the whole range of Ology books, just click on Ology to go to their site. They are very similar to the Harry Potter book, and are filled with lots of information and pull out bits and envelopes to open.
In the other parcel, Mick had stacked three DVDs, that's why the shape had thrown me. I'm a bit of a Steven Seagal fan and have all his films, these are new ones to add to the collection. I also got some clothes.
Mick's parents sent me some money to treat myself with.
My friend Tasha, came round for Lunch and we did eat a few cakes, but I sent her home with a tin full for her Boys. (That's if she didn't eat any on the way home).
Thank you to everyone that sent Cards, emails and left messages on my previous post and the hundreds of posts on my Facebook. I really appreciate them..
And a very special Thank you to the Miniature Witches, you made me cry with laughter today. You know who you all are, all I'll say is, I hope Johnny's not to exhausted and that there is some of that Rum left...Hic xxxxx

What's In The Parcels....?

See these parcel's, they have been sitting in my Lounge since Saturday, tormenting me!
They are my Birthday Presents from Hubby. Tomorrow, I get to rip that paper right off. I've been having a crafty poke and I've got an idea what the big parcel is on the bottom, but the one on the top has got me stumped! It feels like its three things, stacked one on top of the other. But I've been told not to squeeze it! Oh the torment..
My friend Tash, is coming over for Lunch tomorrow, so I thought I'd do some baking and got a bit carried away. Made a huge batch of Nanny Pope's Cakes and lots of Butterfly Cakes.
Yes, all seven tins are filled and there are two layers in every tin. Mind you, Mick and Harry, are already making short work of them and Ben's coming back from Uni tomorrow, so those cakes will steadily disappear..

Christmas & The New Year..

A very Belated Happy New Year to everyone. I have been reading your blogs and trying to keep up as best I could, but may not have left a comment.
We had a really lovely Christmas and New Year, which was spent with close family and friends. Lots of Presents were opened, lots of food was consumed, lots of laughter was had and great memories were made.
I've not made any New Year Resolutions as I never keep them. But some big decisions have been made. Which I'll update you all on later. I hope 2011 is a good Year for you all.
Next week is my Birthday, so I'll be having another Birthday Giveaway..Stay Tuned...

Christmas Day...

Christmas Day started in our House at 5.30am. Not my choice, but I have a Harry! The saucy little Herbert, used his mobile phone to ring the House phone to wake everyone up. Lucky for him, I was already awake, laying in Bed listening to my Hubby, snoring his head off. Harry stood outside our Bedroom Door and heard me asking Mick, who it was on the phone! Its OK I forgave him, he was just so excited..
I got up and joined him downstairs, but he wasn't allowed to open his presents, until Ben & Mick got up. If you look at the pictures closely, you can actually see we went from complete blackness outside to Day Break.
The Boys were pleased with all their presents and I had a couple of lovely surprises. Ben loved the Dragon Art Book we got him and Harry was thrilled to bits with his Osprey's Rugby top.
After the boys opened their presents, we gave each of the Dogs their Stockings. I managed to get a picture of Jasper & Merlin, but for some reason, I haven't got any of Storm and Moses.
We had our Christmas Dinner about 1.30pm. Disaster was narrowly avoided as I'd forgotten to put the Crackers on the table!
The Boys wanted Giant Prawn Cocktails for their Starter. We also did some Brown Bread with Cream Cheese and Oak Smoked Salmon.
That was then followed by our Christmas Dinner of Roast Turkey, Gammon, Roast Potatoes, Parsnips, Peas, Carrots, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Pigs In Blankets, Yorkshire Puddings, Cranberry Stuffing and lovely thick Gravy. We were all so full after Dinner that we didn't have any Dessert. But had Chocolate Fudge Log and Cream later on in the Evening while we were watching one of the DVDs Harry got for Christmas...

Christmas Eve...

Took these pictur es on Christmas Eve. We'd had quite a busy day, getting everything prepared for Christmas. The Boys had showers and got their PJ's on, ready for a night in front of the TV.
Harry got some of the Goodies out of the Christmas Cupboard, notice how the small table is strategically placed next to Mick, so he can just reach over the arm of the Sofa! I did notice that he started on the Jelly Babies first.
The last thing I did was mop the tiled floor. Jasper, was not impressed that I'd moved him and his bed out of the way. He sat patiently until the tiles dried and I moved his bed back, then he crashed out.

Christmas Biscuits...

Yesterday morning we popped into Town to pick up our Meat order at the Butchers.
When I got back, Ben asked if we could make some Christmas Biscuits. We haven't made these together, since Harry and Ben were little. We used to do this every Christmas. So I went through the cupb oards, to find the cookie cutters. But I didn't have any food colourings, so back into Town I went, and brought a packet of five ready made Icing's and some more butter.
I have to say we had such a laugh making and decorating them.
Can you see the little decapitated man? Ben named him Ted! Unfortunately, his head and arm fell off as we took him off of the cooling rack. Ben stuck him back together with icing. Ted, is no longer with us, Ben ate him..

If you'd like to give these Biscuits a go here's the recipe:-

125g (4oz) Butter, softened
50g (2oz) Castor Sugar
175g (6oz) Plain Flour

(I doubled the a bove recipe for the amount of Biscuits we made)

1. Whisk the Butter thoroughly in a bowl until really soft, then beat in the Sugar a little at a time and finally fold in the flour. Knead lightly until smooth.
2. Roll out the Dough on a Floured work surface to the thickness of a 10p piece about 3-5mm or a biscuit thickness.Bake in a preheated oven at 150c (300F), Gas mark 2 for 25 minutes. But keep an eye on them as they my cook sooner depending on your oven.
Allow to cool completely and then decorate. They taste like Shortbread.

Snow White Or Narnia...

In all the chaos, that this White Stuff is causing all over the UK. I walked around our land on 19Th December with my camera, taking I have to say, hundreds and hundreds of photographs. It all looks so beautiful, especially our back field and woods, which reminded me of Narnia. I managed to get some fabulous close up Macro shots, but I'll share those with you later.
The only one in our household, who's been really enjoying themselves in the Snow is Merlin. He's been chasing around like a Puppy, having a complete and utter nut do, rolling in the white stuff , until he is covered and eating copious amounts of it. So much so, that I made him come in the other morning, as I was worried that he'd upset his stomach. Silly Bear...
I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs, if you click on them they will pop up bigger.
For those of you, that want to know what camera I have. It's a Fuji Finepix S 9500, I've also been using Harry's pocket size camera, which is a Samsung S1065.

You Shall Go To The Ball...

Ben had his Psychology Ball on Wednesday in Aberystwyth. Courtney travelled down, to go with him.
They had a lovely Evening and I think your all agree, they both looked fantastic and make a lovely couple.
Then on Thursday evening, we had a big snow fall. I was really worried, as Ben was driving home from University for Christmas on Friday. Especially having to drive on the coast road, knowing that he'd never driven in these sort of conditions before. Plus the roads in the student village hadn't been gritted, so we wasn't sure whether he'd even be able to get the car out.

We had another snow fall last night, and we are not sure whether the Trains from Carmarthen will be running tomorrow, enabling Courtney to get home for Christmas. If not ,we could have another one, around the table on Christmas Day..

Are you all bored with my Christmas Decoration pictures yet?
Just wanted to add some close up pictures of the Decorations and also a couple of pictures of the Tree with the lights turned on.
I can't tell you how pleased I am, with this Tree and if there are any left in the Sales, I might invest in another one for the Boys Room. Although I haven't put their little Tree up, in their room this year.
There are lots of Decorations on the Tree that belonged to my Mum & Dad, so it's always a bitter sweet moment, when I unwrap the decorations each year. But they always bring back great memories, of Christmas's past.
There are also three little Father Christmas's on the Tree, which were the very first decorations I ever brought, to hang on my very first Christmas Tree in my very first House. When I think I was only 19, the same age as Ben is now! Which means those decorations are twenty seven years old. I'm forty six if your trying to work it out. Blimey, doesn't time fly?. One little Father Christmas is Sitting on a Star swing, one is in a Hot Air Balloon and the other one is riding a wooden Hobby Reindeer, instead of a Hobby Horse. I brought them from Avon, I've still got the original boxes they came in as well.
Nikki, can you spot the little Christmas Pudding you made me last year and look closely in the Mantle Garland, can you see the spray of Autumn Coloured Berries?
Rosanna, do you spy the little Italian Angel hanging on the Tree? She looks very happy there, watching over us.

Having always had a real Christmas Tree, since we moved to this House, this year I've succumbed and brought an artificial one.
Which, I have to say, I'm extremely pleased with. I wanted a really thick bushy tree, that gave the impression of a real tree. We'd been looking in the shops for one we really liked, but me being me, I kept picking the most expensive one's and I'm sorry, but I can't justify £100.00 - £150.00, just before Christmas.
We had to go to B & Q, for some bits the other day and as I walked in, I saw this Tree and even better , it had been reduced from £99.99 to £49.99. Unfortunately, it was out of stock in the store, but I took down the Bar code, came home and ordered it on line and it was delivered the next day.

Well, I'm finally getting in the mood for Christmas. Over the last few days I've been decking the rooms out.
I started in the boys sitting Room, by decorating the Mantle piece and hanging their stockings, getting their Father Christmas's out and then placing my collection of Little Mice in front of the Log Burner. Some of these little Mice belonged to my Mum & Dad, so are extra special. Will be back with Photographs of the main lounge later..

OK, I know I'm late! I Should have written this post yesterday, but I have a good excuse. I had a Hospital appointment and then I braved the Shops and got a few more bits and pieces for Christmas and by the time I got home I was cream crackered. Although this year has been easier, I've done 90% of my shopping on line and as my "Boys", are older now, there's not that endless going from shop to shop, trying to get that must have Toy for Father Christmas to bring. Remember "The Furby's", then it was the Toy Story Toys the first time round, oh and then the Wii. Why is it that the Elves never seem to make enough?.
"Braved the shops", I hear you cry, "In this Weather, she must be mad". Well although it's bitterly Cold here and we have penetrating Frost making everything White, with temperatures that haven't got out of the minus, it hit minus 18 in a certain part of Wales on Sunday, we haven't got any Snow, not one little flake! Harry is disgusted, as are his friends, who all thought they were going to get some time off School, to play silly buggers in the Snow..
Anyway, back to the matter in hand and why this post is late. Artisans In Miniature's Advent Calender went live yesterday. With the first Door being unlocked, to reveal the first miniature project. If you pop over each day, to the AIM Site and look behind the relevant Door, there will be yet another Miniature project to enjoy..

Little Monsters..

Forgot to show you these.
As I said when Debie stayed, we played with the clay.
Debie makes the most fantastic eyes, that she uses for her sculpts. I know there are a few people, that like and use them. Personally, I think Debie should sell them.
She used a couple in these little Monster Bottles. They remind me of Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc.
I know that Debie is in the throws of making some bits and pieces to put on Etsy. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Leather Books

Whilst I was in Cardigan the other day, doing some Christmas Shopping. I popped into the Dolls House Shop.
I wanted some wood, for a little project I'm working on. While I was having a good look round I spied this lovely little Leather Books. I think they will look perfect in either, Flourish & Blotts or The Toll House when its completed.

When Debie, went to Miniaturia this year to help out Mary. Mary's stall was right next to Lidi Stroud. (Mary I have to say that new drunken Doll you've made, reminds me of one of my friends, after she's been on the Tia Maria...Hic. I think you have a good idea whom I'm talking about..LOL).
You may know Lidi by her business name Nambuccas Little Shoppe. All three ladies Mary, Debie & Lidi are all A.I.M members.
Debie brought herself a beautiful Tribal pot, which she brought with her to show me, you can see similar one's on Lidi's web site and she brought this back for me, as an early Christmas Present. I'll leave it to Debie to show you what I brought her, for Christmas.
Isn't it fabulous?. I absolutely Love it, it has been so beautifully made. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger.

Hatching Dragons..

When Debie and the girls came to stay with us, we did play with the clay.
I found a little basket that the handle had broken off and Debie made these little Hatching Dragon Eggs to go in there.

I had decided before Debie came that the Toll House, that I showed in a previous post, is going to be the home of a Witch, who's a bit singed around the edges and looks after orphaned baby Dragons.
I've been doing quite a few drawings, of how I want it to look and will share the whole making process, as I go along. Now you know why I've been buying so many Dragons from Tracie.
I'm hoping to get started on it shortly..

Poppet's New Witch...

When Debie came to stay a few wee ks ago, she brought with her the Toe Collector Doll, a Pig and two Witches which she was working on.
Well today Debie, finished the Witch (Pennywort) riding the Pig. Its absolutely brilliant. The pig (Marvin), now has his reins on and the Witch is mounted on his back with her basket of Goodies.
Debie has also finished another Wickle Witch and her Pram. The little Witch reminds me of Debie's eldest Daughter Courtney, who is currently in Wales with my son Ben..

Miniature Dragons...

I told you all that I've become totally addicted to Tracie's little Dragons. While I was looking in her Etsy shop a couple of weeks ago, I came across these two miniature Dragons.
I showed them to Mick and asked him which one he liked the best, as I couldn't make up my mind.
He told me to get both of them, well I didn't need telling twice. If you click on the pictures, they will pop up bigger.
I've just been over to have a look in Tracie's Etsy and she has another Miniature Dragon and some more baby Dragon's over there at the moment.

Under The Weather....

Just to let everyone know that I'm still alive and kicking but feeling pretty miserable and under the weather at the moment.
As quite a few of you already know, after I had the Angiogram's on the 28th October, I was in quite a lot of pain in my arm and ended up being taken into Hospital on Sunday. They put me on a drip and put my arm up in the air. They thought that I'd had a bleed in the arm that had got into my muscles, causing compartment syndrome. Well what ever it is, its the Pain from Hell. I came home late on Tuesday, dosed up with Morphine and enough Painkillers to down an Elephant. It's still bad but it is easing.
Thank you to everyone that has sent Get Well Wishes, emails, cards, and telephoned. I'm finding it too painful to sit on the Computer for long, and seem to have got up this morning with a temperature, so might not be around for a few more days... Hopefully catch up with you all soon.. xxx

Birthday And A Little Mouse...

Debie and her family, have been staying with us since Saturday. Ben also came home from Uni at the weekend, to help celebrate Harry's 15th Birthday and to see Courtney. Harry had a really good Birthday and got some lovely presents and quite a bit of money, and he had Megan here, so he was very happy. We had a really good few days together and Debie entertained us all last night on the Karaoke, lets just say a few Tia Maria's helped with Dutch courage..LOL Debie, left this afternoon and has rung to say she reached home safely.
Now to the little Mouse. I've been meaning to show you all this, for a while. As you know from my previous posts, I've purchased some lovely Owls from Julie.
Well, while looking in her Etsy Shop, I came across this wonderful little Mouse and I have to say fell in Love with him, straight away.
I've told Julie, her photographs just don't do her work justice. When I unwrapped this little one, it was one of those OMG moments. It is so tiny and so exquisite. I photographed him next to one of Nikki's, Pumpkin Bottles, so you could get some idea of just how tiny he is. I Love him...
Now I may not be around again for a few days, as I am going into Hospital tomorrow for a double Angiogram. We are hoping, that they will find out, what is causing all the water retention and swelling. I may be able to come home tomorrow, but depending on what they find, may have to stay in.
So if I'm not around, I hope you all have a Haunting Halloween... xxxx

On the home front a lot of you know that I was in Hospital yesterday for a test. Thankfully, it all went OK and I got the all clear. Spent most of the afternoon in bed fast asleep. But feel much better today. Which was quite a relief. Just next weeks, double Angiogram, to get through now and hopefully get some answers. Thank you to everyone, that sent me good luck messages on my Facebook and for the emails.
Debie and her Poppets are coming to stay from tomorrow until Wednesday. Debie said she needs to see her hand and toe model, (ME) so that she can finish her toe collector. Have you seen how gross her Toes are? I've told her, if she keeps on she can sleep in the Stables. Her answer to that was Nay, Nay.LOL..
Its Harry's Birthday on Sunday and he can't wait to see Megan. Ben's coming home tomorrow from University for Harry's Birthday and to see Courtney. So I can imagine the House will be filled with raging hormones.
Hopefully, while Debie is here, she can help me sort out a give away, which we were going to do while she was here before..

More Baby Dragons...

Here's another three Baby Dragon's to show you. I thought I'd already shared these three with you, on a previous post, but looking back I haven't.
They were all made by the very talented Tracie Howard who's web site is called F eythcrafts. Tracie also has an Etsy Shop of the same name.
These little Dragons are quite addictive, a bit like Kat's Hat's. I noticed in Tracie's shop, that she has a Magic Book keyring. I'm sure I can remember one of our Mini Friends buying one of these and taking the ring part off, as it makes a lovely miniature book.

Dragon Plaque...

A few weeks ago, I finally managed to win one of Nicky Coopers Dragon's. I'd tried on some of her other listings, but always seemed to get pipped at the post.
Inside the package when it arrived was a tiny little box, written on top was, Norwegian Ridgeback 'Norbet' Property Of Hagrid. When I opened the box, nestled inside was a tiny curled up Dragon. Isn't he lovely.
Then on her facebook page, Nicky showed some other Harry Potter inspired miniatures, which I was lucky enough to purchase from Nicky.
Unfortunately, for all of us, Nicky has decided to shut up shop and will no longer be sculpting. Please click on Nicky's name to be taken over to her web site, where Nicky has left a message for all her customers.
I personally think its very sad, but wish Nicky the best for the future. xxxx
